Whiskey Cocktails That Are a Perfect Match for Winter Nights

The Hot Toddy
Not only will this drink warm you up, it soothes the throat and helps fight those winter colds.
1 teaspoon honey, 2 fluid ounces boiling water, 1 ½ fluid ounces whiskey, cinnamon stick, lemon slice, a pinch of ground nutmeg, 3 whole cloves
Pour honey, boiling water, and whiskey into a mason jar mug. Add cloves, cinnamon, and a slice of lemon. Let it steep for five minutes, then sprinkle with nutmeg and enjoy!
The Maple Old-Fashioned
Maple syrup can be used for much more than just pancakes. Try this twist on a classic whiskey drink.
2 ounces rye whiskey or bourbon, 1 teaspoon pure maple syrup, dash of bitters, orange slice
Pour maple syrup into a glass. Add ice. Pour in rye whiskey or bourbon, a little at a time. Stir in between pours to mix well with the syrup. Add a dash of bitters. Rub the orange slice around the inside of a whiskey or rocks glass and add fresh ice to the glass. Pour the strained mixture into the rocks glass and garnish with orange slice.
This simple-to-make classic will keep your insides warm all season long.
2 ounces rye whiskey, ½ ounce sweet vermouth, 2-3 dashes of bitters, maraschino cherries, orange peel
Pour all the ingredients into a mixing glass. Add ice. Stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with cherries and orange peel.
